Craft Note

Hand block–printed in Bagru using dabu (mud-resist). Artisans stamp a paste of local clay, natural gum, and wheat chaff, dust it with sawdust, then dip the cloth into living indigo vats. Bagru dyers “feed” their indigo with jaggery and lime to keep the fermentation alive, which is why these blues have such depth.
